Terry McCaskill, Sr., Senior Pastor, B.S.W., M.Div., D.Min.
Bishop Terry McCaskill, Sr. is a native of Charlotte, NC. He is a third
generation preacher and the son of Dr. Benjamin C. McCaskill and the late Nannie Louise Carson. Bishop
McCaskill is the proud husband of the lovely Lady Shelia Lavern McCaskill and they are blessed with five gifted children:
three handsome boys; Nelvin, Terry Jr., & Terrell and two beautiful girls; Latoya & Terria,.
Bishop McCaskill received his B.S.W. Degree from Livingstone College
in Salisbury, NC and a Master’s of Divinity Degree in Pastoral Care from Morehouse School of Religion (ITC) in Atlanta,
GA. Bishop McCaskill further continued his studies at Erskine Theological Center for a Doctorate of Ministry
Degree, as well as attended the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA.
Bishop McCaskill accepted his call to ministry in 1977 under the guidance
of the late Bishop David Adams, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Fellowship Church in Gastonia, NC. He was ordained by the late
Dr. W.C. Hay, pastor of Galilee Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. Bishop McCaskill has been preaching the word of God since
1984 and has served in many vineyards. He has pastored Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Salisbury, NC; Ebenezer Baptist Church
in Seneca, SC; Queen Street Baptist Church in Greenville, SC; State Chaplain at Givens Prison, and Chaplain at Patrick B.
Harris in Anderson, SC.
Bishop McCaskill founded Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, presently known as
Mt. Sinai World Outreach Ministry, on June 28, 1992 with 28 members, in Pendleton, SC. The ministry has grown to a membership
of 3,000 by the grace and favor of God , “One
church in seven locations”: Pendleton, SC; Spartanburg, SC; Greenville, SC; Greenwood, SC; Hartwell, GA; Accra, Ghana;
and Ibadan, Nigeria in Africa, as well as missions in India, Columbia and the Philippines.
As Presiding Prelate of Mt. Sinai World Outreach Ministry, Bishop McCaskill
has over 50 ministers on staff, serves as spiritual covering over 30 pastors around the world and oversees 50 ministries
to reach the needs of the community.
On June 25, 2004, Bishop McCaskill was consecrated by an Interdenominational
Council of Bishops: Bishop LeRoy Bailey, his spiritual father in ministry and Senior Pastor of The First Cathedral Church
in Bloomfield, Connecticut; Bishop L. Randolph Borders, Presiding Prelate, of Harvest Church Ministries International Inc.,
Shelby, NC; Bishop Andy Lewter, Senior Pastor, of Oakley Full Gospel Baptist Church and
president of Christian Education of the Full Gospel Baptist Church, Columbus, OH; Bishop Kevin Long , Pastor
of Temple Church International , Charlotte, NC; Bishop Haywood Parker, Pastor of Truth Tabernacle Ministries,
Inc., Rocky Mount, NC; along with a host of other consecrated Bishops.
Bishop McCaskill is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.;
named “Who’s Who” among college students; a member of the Southern Housing Board, a member of Christians
Council of Churches United (CCCU), a board member of the Clemson Missions Assistance, and a recipient of the Excellence in
Ministry Award, honored by the Upstate Gospel Coalition. He was also nominated for the Thomas Jefferson Award, “Who’s
Who” among Business Men and was a recipient of South Carolina’s Young American Leadership Award by the South Carolina
Jaycees. Bishop McCaskill is also founder and president of Mt. Sinai’s Bible College, which promotes excellence in ministry.
In addition to his pastoral and evangelistic ministry, Bishop McCaskill
has published two books. His first book, Love Is Not Enough, focuses on the fact that couples as well as singles need
more than love to be in the will of God. His second book entitled, Called Before The Fall is for those who desire a
closer walk with God in their calling. It focuses on ministers, leaders and musicians who have fallen and need courage to
get back up.
Bishop McCaskill’s key to success has happened by “Reaching
the Outcast for Christ " through witnessing via radio, block services, door to door, meeting the needs of the community, and
the favor of the Lord.
“Only Speaking The Word”, Bishops believes in “liberation
theology”. James Cone once said, “we should not only be for the people but with the people”
